New App: Class File Creator

I have been working with the TGB source and one thing that always pains me is adding a new class. Using the built in Visual Studio “Add Class” method is great, except it always puts the source files wherever the SLN file is. I looked around the internet and couldn’t find a solution. Perhaps I missed it but anyway here it is. It’s a little program that creates headers and source files for you. You can choose the directory where you want them saved and select a few options. I have added it to its own section here on the site so if you want to check it out go over the Class File Creator page and check it out. Get it here.

Check out the new article.

Just finished writing up “Why Use Trac/SVN”, go ahead and check it out! If you find this information let me know by posting a comment here, or shooting me an email. Also, if you have anything that you think I should elaborate on, or any information that you feel is incorrect I would really like to know. Don’t be silent! I’m sure others that come across the article will find it useful.

A TorqueScript weekend.

Did a lot of torquescript this weekend. I must say it was fairly enjoyable. I was working on Super Market Scramble and I found that I was able to prototype ideas really fast. Between using the Torque Game Builder editor and Torsion I was able to get things up and running quickly. I did encounter some crashes in the Torque Game Builder editor, I was able to find work-arounds though.

I also did some digging into the engine code. I must say that I am impressed, I was able to find what I needed and modify it rather quickly. Basically what I was doing was adding new accessor methods for some of the GUI objects, it took me about 15 minutes to find, and figure out how to add them. I think that’s pretty fast considering I had never even seen the torque code before.

So far, I’m glad I chose to use Torque 2D for this project. I will continue posting my findings as I continue to work on the project.

Adding Content

It has been a while since I have added anything to this site. I brought it up a while back while I was still working on Krisotron. I will be adding my experiences on having worked on that project, as well as other things that I have done recently. Hopefully someone will find this information valuable!

First Post!

Welcome to the Rebel Box code site. Here we will tell you guys about our adventures in creating indie games. Each game we create will receive it’s own post-mortem page listing all of the success and heart aches we encountered during the project. Currently, our first completed project is Krisotron. Expect to see its post-mortem up soon!
